 I grew up in the city, but in 2005 moved to the Colorado mountains and  found that I am much more mountain girl than city girl (although I do  still love my frou-frou coffee and pedicures). Nothing makes me happier  than hiking with family or friends, especially if that hike brings me  within viewing distance of moose or elk. Heaven! Reading a good book on  my deck with hummingbirds flying nearby is a close second.  

Professionally,  I like to make sure all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed. It's  important to me that contracts are clear and precise, and that I keep  the process moving along without delay. In 1996, I moved to Colorado from Iowa to attend Respiratory Therapy  College in Denver, knowing my life's passion was taking care of people. I  enjoyed my 20-year career at a large Northern Colorado hospital, giving  compassionate patient care and serving my community by touching lives  every day at the bedside. In 2016, my family and I relocated to the  mountain communities for a little peace and quiet, and slower pace of  life.  
 

 My husband, 3 children, and I love spending time  exploring our surroundings by hiking, camping, trying all the local  fare, and visiting every local merchant. My work as a local Real Estate  Agent is by far the job of my dreams, allowing me to care for people in a  completely different way. Laura  Jensen was raised in the Denver suburbs and developed a deep love for  mountain life at a young age. She cherished every weekend camping trip  and made it her goal to live in the mountains full-time. After moving to  Fairplay in 2018, she started a real estate photography company with  her husband, not knowing it would ignite a spark for all things real  estate.

Laura's  passion lies in helping people find their own slice of mountain  paradise. She enjoys the complexities of the mountain real estate  market. Laura provides excellent service to her clients by helping them  navigate the real estate market with confidence. She has experience with  a variety of short-term rental regulations and follows the  ever-changing mountain vacation rental market closely. As a homeowner,  she understands the unique differences in owning a mountain home such as  septic systems, surveys, and private wells. She is detail oriented and  leads with compassion.

Before  becoming a realtor, Laura worked in accounting and finance after  graduating from the University of Wyoming with her degree in accounting.  In her spare time, Laura enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and  their dogs. Laura is an avid wildlife photographer and spends as much  time as possible in nature. She is also a huge LOTR fan and has a life  size scene from The Hobbit in her front yard!
